On the night of Sunday 10th of Febuary 2013, I was fortunate to be with Dad,whilst in the hospital, just at the moment he came round and was able to recognise me. He asked "what is this place" I let him know where he was and why.Speaking was still difficult for him at this time, but he was wanting to try anyway.I explained he had laid with limited movement for some time, down his left side, to our surprise he lifted his left arm, then his left ankle wiggled, he lifted his left leg, moved is whole upper body up, he did these things over and over and was smiling and trying to talk more.On the bathroom door the name tab showed "Female", he joked about it.I explained about the pulse sensor on his now left hand but had been on his right index finger earlier. he said "plug my finger in the socket and recharge me", and laughed.we talked a little more, I asked him to rest so everyone can see he's on the mend. he was holding my hand tightly and smiling with a reassuring look, that all will be ok.We left that night feeling great, I texted everyone the good news. That night my brother Clive called the hospital about 11.00ish they too told him all was well. Hours later about 4.30ish,the hospital called my brother Clive, he was told things had become worse for Dad, we should come in and talk to the doctors. It was not good news, they explained to him Dad had 'Hours to days to live'and that the family and all who know him should come and see him. Many came, over the next couple of days. On his last moments here 13th February 2013,'again',I was fortunate to be in the hospital, with brother Clive and my Kim,we were having a drink and laughing and talking of the good times.Dad suddenly straightened up to our surprise, as if to attention,he gasped loudly,Clive and I put our hands to his chest, his extremely strong heart, which had been keeping him going these last days, was now slowing,he passed away moments later,we were still holding our hands on his chest. He had gasped "Goodbye till we meet again" to us all...Polite to the very end...ya'll know the rest, Thanks for sharing this with me,and long live the lovely memories you all have about MY DAD JOSEPH AUGUSTUS EDWARDS...Andre Edwards.Peace and Love.
